Beauty Base Favourites

20 May 2016

Finding that perfect base combo is something I always struggle especially when wearing foundation feels like such a hassle for me. When it comes to concealers I always end up going for what others think is great because I am far too lazy to search for my own favourite. With warmer weather finally here and my daily make-up routine is such turning to be such a lazy one, these two products are really saving me.

Velvet Matte Skin Tint
First off, let's talk about this moisturizer. It has been about for the last three months and I have been using it on and off for the past six weeks or so as make up has been the last thing on my mind. Now NARS claim that it contains 'VELVET ILLUSION COMPLEX' which supposedly Transforms the look of skin immediately and over time. The moisturiser contains SPF 30 which is perfect for the upcoming warm weather if you can't let go of the foundations and the tints around this time of the year.

Velvet matte skin tint is an a medium coverage moisturizer that is oil free and buildable however I feel as it does cover well anyway and I don't really think you would need to even build it up. It builds up flawlessly and beautifully, including over my pores but can highlight any dry spots on the face if not used with a primer. It does feel much more like a foundation than a moisturizer however it does have a much lighter feel than a foundation itself.  I also do have to set it with a powder even though I feel it isn't needed and only because it tones down the shade I have as the shade below was too light for me.

This is possibly the best tinted moisturizer I have tried so far, even though I do wish there was more of a variety of shades because finding a match that is 100% is out of the question, and the fact it transfers onto my clothes is another thing I do dislike but besides that it still gets two thumbs up from me.

Nars Creamy Concealer
Now this concealer is EVERYTHING. I have been using the Nars Creamy Concealer for over a year now and I haven't given up on it yet and why? Because this bad boy does not disappoint. I know it's a blogger favourite and let me tell you why it's my favourite also. I use three different shades which vary from season to season (this seasons two shown above) depending on how tanned I am etc, and they all blend so well without looking cakey. If I set it with powder or not isn't even an issue as it looks flawless and natural either way and basically no creasing!

What are you current base favourites?

I'm back at it again! And even though I have missed typing away to myself and sharing with you all what is poppin' in my life, I have really enjoyed the time I have had to myself. I will be sharing why at a later date. April is always my favourite month as the weather usually warms up, it's mine & baes anniversary and it's also my birthday month so I use that as an excuse to do whatever (and get away with what I can). This last month however, wasn't as filled as I would have wanted to but I did a whole load of cool things with the close people in my life. Paris at the start of the month involved a lot of sightseeing and shopping and the end of the month was all about partying with my favourite people before exam season hits me hard.

I'll leave you with a couple of my fave snaps from April
