Review: Birchbox June Global Strikers

19 June 2014

With everybody having football fever this month why not have us ladies join in with all the excitement in a beauty related way! Believe it or not I am a football fan and I look forward to this time of year all the time! The last couple of Birchbox subscriptions,  have had a theme or collab to it and I love how they are just continuing with it. This month they have decided to do a box which has products from countries involved in this months football tournament, which is actually something that Glossybox did two years ago, but not as great as this. I love the whole 'Global strikers' theme to it especially because it is a predominantly Brazilian flag coloured box (I guess I'm being biased there).  Inside the box contained the usual 5 samples as well as a cute little extra they always add in which happened to be a little flip flop keyring. So if you follow me on Instagram you will know I have hyped this box up for the past week, because I think this box is one of the best ones yet!

Inside I received the following 5 products as well as a cute little keyring, three products I was already familiar with and two we're totally new to me. Inside my box were the following items:

BeautyBlender Original + Solid (full size and sample solid) - £26
OPI Mini Nail Lacquer: Brazil Collection - £11.95 (for four minis)
Naobay Body Radiance Lotion -£14 (For 250ml)

I was already familiar with the BeautyBlender which came in my box and let me just tell you this product made my whole box worth while! If you haven't heard of this product before it is a makeup sponge that you can use to apply your foundation or concealer which leaves it flawless due to not having any edges. Since using this my make up application is a much quicker one and it looks super smooth. I also feel as if I use less product too so I'm winning either way.  I also received a face cream from Claudalie which I have been using for the past week. I haven't seen any improvement to my skin since the start of using it but my skin is still soft and the scream has a lovely scent to it. A Brazilian themed product in my box was the yellow mini OPI polish which I haven't used, the colour is pretty but I hate glitter polishes so this one will be given a miss. Another was a product I had received previously in my Birchbox, which is also very popular is the TheBalm Cheek and lip tint. I don't think this shade suited me however it feels amazing on the lips and very well pigmented. The Naobay lotion was my least favourite item from the box as I felt it smelt like green tea leaves and I am more of a fruity person when it comes to scents so it really made my stomach hurt.

I am very impressed this month, I loved the whole mix of known brands as well as totally new ones, and it doesn't matter if you don't like a product like I did as there will always be someone you know that you could give it to. This is possibly the best value box I have received since joining and this is now my fifth box! You can get this amazing box too for only £7.95 including free shipping by using this link Here and then using the code BBXBEAUTYGEEK before checkout.

Did you manage to grab a box too? Would love to know what you all got in yours so leave a comment below x

June Wants

With the sales coming up this month and the following month I have been sceptical about shopping just in case anything I do buy ends up in the sale (which happens quite often if you ask me) so I haven't purchased much this month. However, I have had my eye on one too many items already. I started the year saying I will be keeping my wardrobe to a minimum and mainly monochrome but it is a colourful summer so colour is needed!

This month there isn't much I really want as I have so much (and I mean A LOT) I have bought the last couple of months and haven't worn yet. This is very unlike me I know but I guess I am finally learning to cut back on my spending. Most of what I have chosen are summer clothing and a great new BB which I cannot wait to get my hands on for this warm weather.  Another product is a the new Benefit 'They're Real' gel liner (released in the uk on the 29th of June) which has already had 35,000 pre-orders! I heard Bronze Goddess by Estee Lauder is the perfect coconut sweet scent so this may be my new scent for this warm weather. So below are all my lovely wants for this month, I will link them so you too can know where to get them from.

1. Nike Sports Bra - £22

What's on your want list for this Month? Let me know in the comments box! xo

Latest In Beauty: The British Beauty Blogger Dream Box

18 June 2014

So Jane Cunningham, known better as British Beauty Blogger , has done it again with another Latest in Beauty box. This is now my third LIB box and I must say that previously, although SOME products are amazing and worth the purchase of the box, the rest we're all just itty bitty samples or things that do not match my shade and unusable. This is probably my biggest problem when it comes to beauty boxes and samples because they will go for an average shade and only have this shade for all their boxes. I'm a dark olive shade and only once in a glamour magazine have I ever had a sample that matched my tone. Anyway, back to the point, this box was worth every penny so I am pretty chuffed I managed to get my hands on it. The box was literally filled with so much that it was hard to close it.

Inside, the box contained the following products:

Too Faced 'Better Than Sex' Mascara
Benefit 'It's Potent' Eye Cream
Lola Kabuki Brush
Bourjois Cream Blush
La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water Spray
Elemis Treat Your Feet Foot Cream
Essie Spring Shades Nail Polish
Make-up Revolution Awesome Eyeshadow & Eyebrow Palette
Ren Satin Perfection BB cream
L'occitane Immortelle Divine Lotion
Janjira Hand Wash
Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick Kisses in 'So Marylin'
Roger & Gallet Gingembre Rouge
Bee Good Honey & Wild Water Mint Cleansing Water
Kneipp Herbal Baths

The Best Bits

La Roche Thermal Spring Water Spray (full size) - £4 50ml
I know this is basically just a can of water but during the hot summer days this will be my saviour! It sprays a light mist with a subtle scent. This product came just at the right time and right season also as I am running out of my Evian one so this will come in handy.
This is the main reason why I bought this beauty box because I wanted this from before. It was amazing reviews and the packaging is amazing! I have too many opened mascaras so for the next month or so this won't be opened however when I do, I will let you know.
Lola Kabuki Brush (full size) - £19
This is a brand which I can only seem to find in Marks and Spencer and that I wouldn't really purchase myself, but it's soft bristles and the way it glides my bronzer on has totally converted me. This will not be my only LOLA brush
Elemis Treat Your Feet (20ml) - £19 for 75ml
Summer = Nice smooth feet so this will be handy. I love Elemis' products and I haven't tried this one yet so I was pretty happy to receive this. So far so good.
Smells like oranges, comes in cute packaging and is organic. For only £8 it's the perfect saturday night in product.

The value of this box is amazing, reaching a whopping £100 when all I paid was a fraction of that at £19.95 (if I'm correct). There was a mix of full sized products as well as sample sized ones, some which I was already familiar with and some new ones I had never heard of. The mystery of receiving beauty boxes is always nice because you end up discovering new faves, getting some you already have or wanted and falling back in love with old favourites too. The contents of the box isn't a mystery in this case as  you will be able to see MOST of the products in the summary when you check out. Judging by what I paid and what I received, I can't complain about most of these products not suiting me and I guess I am cool with that. The products I did like we're all good sample sized or full sized and made up for what I paid. I will do a review on the Too Faced Mascara later on when I finally get a chance to use it.

Did you manage to pick up the box? What are your thoughts on it ?
